Every time I look in the mirror, I take a moment to admire how Allah has made us so beautiful. Whether I’m wearing something new or just noticing my clothes, it’s a reminder to make a thankful Dua. It’s a simple way to ground ourselves in the fact that all beauty comes from Him.

Hadith About Looking in the Mirror
“When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saw his face in the mirror, he said:
(And in another narration:
“Praise be to Allah Who has perfected my creation and made my image good…”) *
Expressing Gratitude to Allah for Our Beauty and Appearance
I thank Allah every time I look in the mirror because He has created me beautifully and with great care. Even if I notice small imperfections, I remind myself that His design is perfect and unique. True beauty is about being grateful for the body and soul He has given me.
When I wear something new or feel happy with my appearance, I always say Alhamdulillah to show my gratitude. It helps me remember that all good things, including my looks, come from Allah alone. Saying a short Dua in that moment keeps my heart humble and full of shukr.
Lesson’s that we learn from this beautiful Dua
The mirror shows us how beauty is ever-changing—we grow older, and our clothes may go out of fashion. But the beauty inside, like good character, kindness, and love, never fades. Allah Ta’ala cares about what’s inside, not things like colour, race, or age.
Importance of Inner Beauty
-
The main thing is the inner self, not the outside.
-
We should work on making our insides as beautiful as our outer selves.
Steps to Follow
-
Saying the Dua is the first action.
-
Spending time with people of good character is the second.
-
Studying the seerah and character of the beloved Nabi ﷺ is the third.
Choosing Relationships
-
When making friends or in marriage, look beyond beauty, health, and wealth.
-
Focus on the person’s Akhlaq and Deen.
Blessings of the Dua
Insha’Allah, this Dua will help preserve and increase our beauty and grant us a truly beautiful character.
