Arabic:
الْـحَمْـدُ للهِ الَّـذِي أَحْـيَانَا بَعْـدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ
Urdu Translation:
تمام تعریفیں اس اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے ہمیں موت (نیند) کے بعد زندگی دی، اور اسی کی طرف ہمیں لوٹ کر جانا ہے۔
English Translation:
All praise is for Allah who gave us life after causing us to die (sleep), and to Him is the resurrection.

Alhamdu lillaahil-ladhee ahyaanaa ba’da maa amaatanaa wa ilayhin-nushoor

Manners & Sunnahs After Waking Up
- Wake up early (for Tahajjud or Fajr)

1. Praise to Allah for Life After Sleep
Arabic:
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ ، وَلَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَاللهُ أَكْـبَرُ ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي
Transliteration:
la ‘iilah ‘iilaa allh wahdah la sharik lah , lah almulk walah alhamd , wahu ealaa kuli shay’ qadir , subhan allh walhamd lilh , wala ‘iilah ‘iilaa allh wallh ‘akbar , wala hawl wala quat ‘iilaa biallh alealii aleazim rabi aghfir li
Urdu:
اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، اکیلا، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں۔ اسی کی بادشاہی ہے اور اسی کی حمد ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔ اللہ پاک اور حمد اللہ کے لیے ہے۔ اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور اللہ سب سے بڑا ہے۔ اللہ کے سوا نہ کوئی طاقت ہے اور نہ طاقت۔ میرے رب مجھے معاف کر دے۔
English:
There is no god but Allah alone, without partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things omnipotent. Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah. There is no god but Allah, and Allah is Greatest. There is no power nor strength save with Allah, the Most High, the Magnificent. My Lord, forgive me.
2. Gratitude Upon Waking
Arabic:
الْـحَمْـدُ للهِ الَّـذِي رَدَّ عَلَيَّ رُوحِي وَعَافَانِي فِي جَسَدِي وَأَذِنَ لِي بِذِكْرِهِ
Transliteration:
Alhamdu lillaahil-ladhee radda ‘alayya roohee wa ‘aafaanee fee jasadee wa adhina lee bidhikrih
Urdu:
تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں جس نے میری روح واپس لوٹائی، میرے جسم کو تندرست رکھا، اور مجھے اپنا ذکر کرنے کی اجازت دی۔
English:
All praise is for Allah who returned my soul to me, gave health to my body, and allowed me to remember Him.
3. Dua for Protection and Surrender
Arabic:
اللّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ، وَوَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِي إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ

Allahumma aslamtu nafsee ilayk, wa wajjahtu wajhee ilayk, wa fawwadtu amree ilayk

O Allah! I surrender my soul to You, turn my face to You, and entrust all my affairs to You.

Arabic:
أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ
Transliteration:
Asbahnaa wa asbahal-mulku lillaah, walhamdu lillaah
Urdu:
ہم نے صبح کی اور بادشاہی اللہ کی ہوئی، اور تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں۔
English:
We have entered the morning, and the kingdom belongs to Allah. All praise is for Allah.
5. Dua for Well-being and Guidance
Arabic:
اللّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلًا
Transliteration:
Allahumma innee as’aluka ‘ilman naafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan
Urdu:
اے اللہ! میں تجھ سے نفع بخش علم، پاکیزہ رزق، اور مقبول عمل کا سوال کرتا ہوں۔
English:
O Allah! I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure sustenance, and accepted deeds.
