3rd Kalima “Tamjeed”

The 3rd Kalima in Islam is known as Kalima Tamjeed. It is one of the Six  Kalimas taught to Muslims, especially in South Asian countries, as a way to learn fundamental Islamic beliefs and ways of glorifying Allah (God).

Many Muslims, especially those in South Asian countries, grow up reciting and memorizing the
six Kalimas, a tradition deeply taught in homes and schools. Among them, the 3rd Kalima holds a special place, known as Kalima Tamjeed, or the Word of Glorification.

I remember as a child in Pakistan, we were not only encouraged to recite it daily but also to reflect on its meaning—something that helped me learn the depth of Islamic thought early on. It’s more than a ritual; it’s a concise way of connecting to Allah through glorifying Him and understanding His greatness.
