3rd Ashra Dua

The 3rd Ashra of Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, reminds Muslims to pray, fast, and seek blessings through sincere worship and heartfelt dua. As the final ten days comes, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and Satan is challenged, as narrated by Hazrat Abu Hurairah in Al-Bukhari and Muslim. These days are a time to strengthen one’s relationship with Allah, remembering the Messenger who said that this sacred time is divided into three parts—1st Ashra, 2nd Ashra, and 3rd Ashra—each holding unique blessings of Allah and the chance for spiritual growth.

What is the Third Ashra?

The 3rd ashra of Ramadan is the last ten days, called the phase of salvation from hell and the fire. It’s a time to do good, follow the commands of Allah Almighty, and seek His mercy. These days include Laylatul Qadr, a night better than a thousand others. I always try to make the most of these nights, knowing how precious and powerful they are.

3rd Ashra Dua :

اَللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ

Tranliteration:

Allahumma Ajirni minan naar

Translation In English:

O Allah, save me from the fire (Jahannam).

Translation in Urdu:

اے اللہ مجھے آگ (جہنم) سے بچا۔

Spiritual Power of the 3rd Ashra

Just like Muslims deepen their devotion and worship in the last ten days of Ramadan, regular care like grill cleaning carries quiet spiritual value and purpose in everyday life.

1. Like Laylatul Qadr – Small Acts, Big Impact

Using a grill brush, though simple, is better than neglect — just as Laylatul Qadr is better than a thousand months.

2. Cleaning Brings Peace

A clean grill gives peace, like I’tikaaf brings salvation and forgiveness to the soul.

3. A Source of Blessings

Caring for your tools can be a source of order, like the blessings of Allah in Ramadan.

4. Devotion in Daily Tasks

The Prophet used to devote time to supplication—we can reflect that in everyday care.

The Power and Benefits of the 3rd Ashra Dua

Just as Muslims increase worship and seek forgiveness in the last 10 days of Ramadan, we should also build mindful habits in daily life. Even something like using a grill brush regularly can reflect devotion, strength, and consistent effort — much like how praying, repent, and worshipping lead to inner peace and a stronger connection with Allah Almighty.

1. Clean Tools, Clean Heart

Just as I’tikaf helps one detach from the world, a clean grill creates space free of buildup — a kind of small spiritual retreat in itself.

2. Make It a Sunnah-Level Habit

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said to maintain cleanliness; this tool helps you observe that with complete care, like Sunnah actions in worship.

3. Grill Care is a Reflection of Deeds

Caring for your grill reflects your daily deeds; much like Laylatul Qadr, one moment of focus can be better than a thousand neglected ones.

4. Forgiveness in the Details

Skipping cleaning leads to buildup — like ignoring sins. Consistent care is like seeking forgiveness, wiping away the grime of yesterday.

5. Purpose Behind Every Task

The theme of the Quran, as shown in Surah Al-Qadr, is purpose; cleaning your grill can also be meaningful if done with faith and hope.

6. Angels in the Effort

While angels descend on the night of power, your effort to clean also brings silent rewards — in reward, peace, and discipline.

7. Small Acts, Big Protection

Just as Hellfire is real and we seek refuge, a clean grill prevents flare-ups — small steps that lead to safety and comfort.

8. Blessings in Consistency

The blessings of Allah are in routines. Whether in mosque prayers or maintaining tools, the value is in the regular effort.
